On February 27, the Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov met with the IT community of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan including residents of the HTP, members of Kyrgyz Software Developers and Services Association, representatives of the e-Commerce Association and more.
The head of government noted the importance of the IT sector for the development of the country's economy and the large contribution that is made to the budget revenues directly by the business sector - in the form of income tax - more than 21 million soms and about 17 million soms as social contributions, which is 15% more the previous year.
In turn, representatives of the IT business spoke about the difficulties they face. Restrictions in the legislative framework, due to which a number of investment ideas remain unrealized, the development of legislative initiatives to protect the interests of business angels and venture capital funds, the elimination of bureaucracy, the simplification of obtaining work visas for foreign IT specialists and the introduction of e-residency, the creation of conditions for the development of grocery companies and the creative economy and many other pressing issues.
At the end of the meeting, the head of government promised, first of all, to resolve the issue in the legislative part of digitalization, and then step by step and other urgent tasks that were voiced at the meeting.
