Kyrgyz Republic - Best Taxation Environment for Innovators in Asia Pacific
The High Technology Park of the Kyrgyz Republic (HTP) has received an award at the Startup Ecosystem Awards 2026 in the category “Best Taxation Environment for Innovators in Asia Pacific.”
Tashkent, September 23, 2026. The award was presented during ICT Week Uzbekistan, an event bringing together representatives of the technology sector and the international business community. According to StartupBlink’s official results, Kyrgyzstan ranked first in Asia Pacific in the Taxation category of the Innovators Business Environment Index 2026. This category assesses tax-related conditions affecting startups, entrepreneurs, and innovation-driven businesses. The award highlights a specific competitive advantage for Kyrgyzstan in the international technology market. For company founders, the tax environment is one of the factors in choosing where to launch and grow a business, alongside access to skilled talent, financing, and customers. StartupBlink’s recognition raises Kyrgyzstan’s profile among entrepreneurs and investors exploring opportunities in Central Asia.
HTP and Technology Business Development in Kyrgyzstan
HTP provides export-oriented IT companies with a special tax regime and support for business development. The Park’s legal framework was established in 2011 with the adoption of the Law on the High Technology Park of the Kyrgyz Republic. Its Directorate was formed in 2012.
Since then, HTP has brought together entrepreneurs, developers, and international partners around a shared goal: building technology companies in Kyrgyzstan that can operate in global markets.
More information about the Park’s history and mission is available on the official HTP website.
Why This Matters for Kyrgyzstan
Digital businesses can develop products in Kyrgyzstan and offer them to customers abroad. The operating environment for IT companies therefore has implications beyond individual businesses. It shapes opportunities for professional growth, the development of expertise, and the country’s participation in the international economy.
A competitive tax environment is one factor supporting this development. Businesses also need skilled professionals, infrastructure, and access to customers. Together, these conditions help teams plan for the years ahead.
Kyrgyzstan’s performance in StartupBlink’s index provides a concrete point of reference in discussions with overseas founders and partners. Their introduction to the country’s technology sector can now begin with an achievement documented in an international index.
