
Kyrgyz Students Win Gold and Silver at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence IOAI 2026
Kyrgyzstan's national team delivered a strong performance at the III International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2026), winning a gold medal, a silver medal, and an honorable mention.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the competition took place from August 2 to 8, 2026, in Astana, Kazakhstan, bringing together more than 400 students from 106 countries.
Results of the Kyrgyz Participants
- Yan Bobrus (10th grade, Gazprom Kyrgyzstan School) — gold medal;
- Sabyr Alymbekov (10th grade, Maarif Educational Complex) — silver medal;
- Aivar Tynchtykbekov (9th grade, Akylman Presidential School) — honorable mention;
- Aruke Sulaimanova (11th grade, School No. 6) — olympiad participant.
Following the tournament, Kyrgyzstan's national team ranked among the best, placing 15th in the overall team standings.
The team was led by Iskhak Tazhibaev, Mamat Ishmatov, and Artem Belyaev. The students were also coached by Matvei Nizovsky, Aidin Asankadyrov, and Akniet Kenzhegulov.
